The Fassi Innovation Center was created to house the group’s various operations in Albino (BG) at a single site that would provide adequate space for growth while also serving as a dedicated hub for innovation. The architectural project was developed by Studio Tecnico Associato Cortinovis e Perolari of Verdiva (BG), while the interiors were designed by Studio Durante Ufficio of Maser (TV). Founded over 55 years ago as a family-run workshop specialising in truck fitting and repair, Fassi has long played a pioneering role in its sector, and this new technology centre reflects its commitment to embracing the future through continuous innovation. The Fassi Innovation Centre serves as a collaborative space for all companies in the Group (Fassi, Cranab and Marrel) where technicians bring ideas to life by transforming projects into prototypes and testing their potential and performance. The figures testify to the scale of the project. Spanning 11,500 square metres, the site includes 4,600 square metres of office space, 800 square metres of service areas, and a 400-square-metre showroom to display brand innovations. Additionally, a dedicated 3,400-square-metre activity area is devoted to prototype construction, crane assembly, fatigue testing and the development of hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems.

For the interior surface coverings of the Fassi Innovation Centre, the architects selected tiles from Panaria Ceramica’s Context collection, which they installed as a raised floor system in three shades of grey (Store, Mansion and Hangar), 60×60 cm and 60×120 cm sizes and a thickness of 9.5 mm. These shades create a sense of colour continuity with the exterior of the large technology centre. Inspired by traditional surfaces created from blends of marble grit, stone and fired brick amalgamated within a cement-based compound, the Context collection proved to be an ideal choice for an industrial project of this kind. It is exceptionally resistant to impact, abrasion, bending, weathering, fire, stains and chemicals, as well as being fully non-absorbent. Additionally, Context is part of the Protect® line featuring an integrated silver ion antibacterial shield that eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria, ensuring maximum hygiene for floors and walls.
