Located in the Passeier Valley amongst the stunning scenery of Trentino Alto-Adige, the Stroblhof hotel is part of a family tradition dating back more than three centuries. « We are surrounded by mountains and nature, » says Sara Keller Pircher, a member of the owner family. « The hotel is located in San Leonardo, a small village at the end of the Passeier Valley just 20 kilometres from Merano and close to the junction between the roads leading to two Alpine passes, Passo Giovo at an altitude of 2,100 metres and Passo Rombo at an altitude of 2,500 metres. »
Hotel Stroblhof has a history dating back centuries. « It was first mentioned in a document dating from 1658 as Gasthaus zum Einhorn, then from 1768 as Stroblwirt, » continues Sara Keller Pircher. « The Strobl family rebuilt the inn after a fire and laid the foundations for the Stroblhof’s long tradition. » The hotel has been owned by the Pircher family since 1954 when Johann Pircher Junior and his wife Anna Klotz took over the management. In 2007, the current owners, Hansjörg Pircher and Sara Keller Pircher, took over their parents’ business and transformed the hotel with new ideas. The result is an active family spa resort with a total of 114 rooms ideal for families, couples, sports enthusiasts or visitors simply in search of relaxation. With its 5 heated pools, a beauty farm with 11 booths and numerous saunas, including one with a panoramic view of the Passeier mountains, it is the perfect place to unwind and recharge one’s batteries. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, from yoga to guided mountain hikes and mountain bike tours, and its facilities include two tennis courts and a riding school with Haflinger, Paint, Quarter and Appaloosa horses. It also has a children’s house, a 3D cinema, table tennis, table football and basketball facilities, a playground and a supervised kids’ club. « The resort was designed by Austrian architects Köck & Bachler, the sauna was the work of Kofler Andreas’s practice Createlier, and the initial concept was created by architect Landauer, » continues Sara Keller Pircher. « The style is modern Alpine, while all the furniture, lighting and style choices were made by my family, who wanted to create something personal and unique. We spent a lot of time over the choice of high quality materials. Almost all the fabrics are Designers Guild, with bold colours to enhance the vitality of the whole interior, while the lights are from Tom Dixon, Slamp, Artemide, Vibia and Kartell. The family chose oak wood and ceramic tiles for the surface coverings. « We opted for the Block 2.0, Rocks and Wood Side collections from Kronos Ceramiche, particularly tiles inspired by local silver quartzite. Kronos line tiles were installed in the bathrooms of the suites as well as in the sauna, the swimming pools and the corridors, where they were chosen in different thicknesses and with tested and certified anti-slip surfaces according to the needs of safety and durability. »
