Bologna Design Week will be held from 25 to 29 September in conjunction with Cersaie for a week of events celebrating ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings in the Bologna city centre, involving 150 participants and more than 100 events including exhibitions, workshops, design talks and exhibits hosted in historic buildings, museums, universities, academies, art galleries, theatres, private homes and showrooms.

The 36th Cersaie expands its spaces and features a cultural programme of international interest.

At Cersaie, the two renowned architects Mario Botta and Guido Canali will discuss the theme of architectural projects with moderator Fulvio Irace. The event, to be held on Thursday 27 September at 4:00 pm in the Architecture Gallery, is organised as part of the 10th edition of Cersaie’s “building, dwelling, thinking” cultural programme.

There are very few exhibitions that can boast an attendance of more than 110,000 visitors, and almost none where international visitors make up almost 50% of the total. Cersaie is all of this and more.

During the five days of Cersaie 2018, the Italian and international tiling world will converge on Tiling Town, the space devoted to tile installation located in the new Hall 31 of the Bologna Exhibition Centre.

The highly topical theme of the architecture of tolerance will be explored in a conference to be held during this year’s Cersaie. The event will take place on Thursday 27 September in the Architecture Gallery as part of the 10th edition of Cersaie’s building, dwelling, thinking cultural programme.

Tuesday 25 September will be another memorable day for Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings. When Richard Rogers takes the stage in the Palazzo dei Congressi to give this year’s Keynote Lecture, he will become the ninth Prizker prize laureate to take part in the Building Dwelling Thinking cultural programme.
