Considered the cradle of Slavic civilisation, Kiev is a city steeped in history, a crossroads of cultures whose extraordinary architectural heritage is seamlessly woven into its ancient yet modern urban fabric. The city’s modernity is epitomised by its twelve Dobrobut clinics, a network of private medical centres that represent a pinnacle of excellence in the Ukrainian healthcare sector. Designed to the highest international standards, the clinics stand out for their state-of-the-art technology and highly functional yet architecturally sophisticated spaces. Along with their discreet and elegant contemporary interior design, they feature an array of materials that complement the clean lines of the architecture and create an aesthetically refined and emotionally appealing ambience. These materials include porcelain tiles from the Italian brand Ceramica Fondovalle, which were chosen by the architecture and interior design firm AIMM Group for several of the interior spaces due to their exceptional aesthetic and functional qualities. In particular, the brand’s acclaimed Planeto stone-effect porcelain tile collection was chosen for the floors, walls and reception desk in the stylish entrance lobby of the most recently opened Dobrobut clinic. The Planeto collection tiles, with their visually compelling aesthetics inspired by the intriguing and diverse morphology of celestial bodies, blend form and structure with lifelike graphic motifs that echo the natural veining of stone. As a result, they bring a sophisticated yet versatile design to both residential and public spaces. While the collection comes in five warm tones with a natural finish, for this project the designers opted for the delicate hues of Venus, whose sophisticated style helps to create a luminous and cohesive aesthetic. The choice of a single colour variant with a subtle yet powerful personality marked by its distinctive textured shading has lent the entire project a contemporary and elegant feel, in line with the latest interior design trends for this kind of public space. The Planeto Venus collection is available in three different thicknesses and a wide range of sizes, from small geometric elements to large slabs. This versatility gave the designers the greatest possible compositional freedom, while the technical characteristics of bending strength and abrasion and slip resistance proved to be particularly suited to this type of application.
