Ceramiche Marca Corona wins Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 with Arialuce

Marca Corona, a historic ceramic tile producer based in the Sassuolo ceramic district, gained fresh international recognition in mid-November when it was honoured in Milan with the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024 for its Arialuce collection. The jury selected the collection as the winner of the “Finishes” category for its “aesthetic appeal, symbolic and emotional content, production techniques and quality”.

Arialuce is Marca Corona’s first collection of lattice tiles and was designed by Product Development Manager Mariachiara Russo and produced in collaboration with Fornace S. Anselmo, a company with a longstanding brickmaking tradition dating back to the early 20th century.

The Arialuce collection marks Marca Corona’s first venture beyond traditional surface coverings and into the world of three-dimensional design. It consists of extruded terracotta volumes that create architectural and furnishing structures for both interiors and exteriors, capable of defining spaces while allowing air and light to filter through. The almost hypnotic interplay of the modules with their alternation of solids and voids produces functional yet evocative three-dimensional textures. The collection comprises three distinct elements, each offering unique graphic patterns and varying degrees of filtering: Curve, Pertuse and Asole, available in the three finishes Naturale, Avorio and Bianco Glassa.
