A focus session on the use of ceramics in wet areas
(December 2024) | The Press Cafés, organised by Cersaie in collaboration with leading publishing houses, are spaces dedicated to dialogue and discussion on topics relevant to ceramics and bathroom furnishings. The conversations focus in particular on architectural space, design, urban development and architecture in general.
Following an in-depth discussion of ceramic pavings in urban redevelopment projects at Cersaie 2022 (watch) and of the proper design and installation of low-thickness floor systems at Cersaie 2023 (watch), the session organised by Ingenio at this year’s Cersaie focused on the use of ceramics in wet areas and on how to effectively combine the three key characteristics of design, durability and safety.
Thanks to the contribution of five industry experts, the event offered insights into key aspects and best practices for designing and installing ceramic surfaces in applications such as spas, wellness spaces and bathrooms.
The five industry experts taking part were Niccolò Panzani, an interior designer at NOA – Network of Architecture, Angelo Belli, Vice Chairman of the Conpaviper screed section, Alessandro Nizzetto, representative of Assoposa, and engineers Carlo Montecchi and Ciro Scialò.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics, with special attention to the aesthetic impact of architectural design and the durability and safety of surfaces.
Niccolò Panzani from NOA – Network of Architecture presented three outstanding architectural projects carried out by his practice, including the Hotel Monastero Arx Vivendi in Arco (TN).
The event provided an overview of the challenges involved in designing and installing ceramic surfaces in areas such as bathrooms, spas, wellness spaces and swimming pools.
