(September 2024) | Six hundred companies from 25 countries will participate in Cersaie 2024, the 41st edition in its history, making it a truly international event. This diverse and highly qualified gathering will showcase numerous significant innovations to visitors from all around the globe.

A central theme among ceramic tile exhibitors will be slabs, featuring a wide array of surface finishes, including innovative stone and wood-effect ceramics. Particular research has also gone into reducing material thickness to just a few millimetres, which leads to lower production and transport costs and, consequently, a reduction in the use of natural resources. This is a significant step forward, as it eliminates the need for redundant thicknesses while still ensuring resistance to abrasion, foot traffic and chemical agents in the specific applications where they are used.

A key feature of this year’s Cersaie is the revival of vintage tiles inspired by the Italian design trends of the 1960s and 1970s. This nostalgic journey reintroduces the colours and shapes that marked the first foray of ceramic tiles in the world of design. Created using state-of-the-art production techniques, these ceramic collections rekindle the spirit of these ‘epic’ historical periods, celebrating both the material and cultural heritage of Italy and many other countries around the world.

Equally important is the innovation in bathroom furnishings, where three-dimensional designs are being used to create shapes that adapt to various spaces, from small apartments to commercial and HORECA environments. This approach increases the number of possible shapes, extending to organic forms and colour palettes that go beyond classic white. The focus on customisation offers a multitude of solutions, providing original responses to the specific requests and desires of individual customers.

Water-saving solutions continue to be a key trend at Cersaie, highlighting the industry’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development. This path towards sustainability is clearly here to stay, marking a significant direction in the future of bathroom furnishings and ceramic tiles.
