Ceramic is an inert and incombustible material, made with natural raw materials, which through a thermal process at 1250°C degrees, result in one of the building materials with the best possible performance of reaction to fire.

One of the most interesting characteristics of ceramics, a direct consequence of its manufacturing process, is, in fact, that it does not burn, does not fuel the fire and does not participate in the fire.

This characteristic is specifically recognized by current regulations, which state that ceramic surfaces, regardless of the conditions of installation or use, must be considered as belonging to the highest fire reaction classes, both for floors and walls.

This characteristic is also confirmed by the study carried out by the Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca Industriale (CIRI) Meccanica Avanzata e Materiali (MAM) of the University of Bologna, which analyzes the reaction to fire of PBM (plastic-based-material floorings) and carries out an in-depth analysis on the correctness of the commercial declarations present in brochures, websites and technical sheets of these products.
