KOINÈ

In her research for the Koinè collection, designer Claudia Carpenito has reimagined key shapes from her artistic alphabet as two-dimensional decorations: the imperfect semicircle, the oblique line, and a motif inspired by vases from the ancient Messapia region. This region was once a hub of Koinè culture, where diverse populations contributed to a rich cultural layering that evolved into a shared language. This fusion of alphabets and symbols served as the inspiration for the Koinè collection, where the artist offers her personal interpretation of an ancient language.
