Seoul is the world’s seventh largest city with a population of almost ten million, while more than twenty-seven million people live in the wider metropolitan area. With its remarkably dense landscape of high-rise residential and corporate buildings, it is home to the headquarters of some of the world’s leading multinational corporations such as Samsung, LG and Hyundai.
Bustling with offices, factories, shopping centres, banks and financial institutions, Seoul is one of the most attractive cities in East Asia and a unique model of contemporary industrialisation and democratisation.
On 30 June 2023, Ace Medical inaugurated its new headquarters in the city’s neighbourhood of Godeok, a name that means “high virtue” in reference to the story of a public officer who lived here in the 14th century and remained loyal to his government while rejecting an offer from the ruling Joseon dynasty. Since the 1990s, the area has been served by the Myeongil and Godeok subway stations.
The company is a leader in the South Korean medical equipment industry and has been conducting pioneering research and development ever since it was founded 30 years ago.
South Korea has preserved its cultural traditions while being deeply committed to innovation and research. It is highly attentive to international trends and has a declared passion for Italian products.
Within this context of cultural exchange, Caesar Ceramiche contributed to the project by supplying slabs for the floors and walls in the foyer of the imposing office building.
The client opted for large-format marble-effect porcelain stoneware slabs from the Anima Futura collection, chosen in the two colours Amazing Silver and Majestic White. Inspired by the sumptuous appeal of classical marble, these surfaces are the perfect complement to the grandeur and solemn ambience of the entrance foyer.
The glossy surface and light colour of Majestic White create a modern yet timeless ambience.
The entrance features an elegant interplay of surfaces with a variety of textures and shades: pronounced or subtle veining, dramatic colour transitions and delicate yet intricate visual textures. While the opalescent surface of Majestic White evokes the ethereal beauty of antiquity, the intricate vein patterns of Amazing Silver, in colours ranging from anthracite to bronze, anchor the aesthetic firmly in the present without losing touch with its noble heritage.
This choice underscores the aesthetic appeal and the practical benefits of porcelain stoneware, including hygiene, durability and the ability to withstand heavy foot traffic, making this material ideal for public spaces used by large numbers of people.
